LO1: Task 2 - City Talk

Running Order -

So the first thing shown in the show is the jingles, this lasts about 20 seconds this is to introduce the show and they use that every time the show is broadcast therefore giving the feeling of familiarity to the viewers.The show also uses jingles in between segments, this helps the listeners become more familiar with the sections of the show, so they understand in more depth what the show is about as they have visuals. Within the show they also use the jingle 'City Talk 105.9' this keeps it in the listeners head so that they think of that radio station when they come to listening to the radio again. 

DJ/Presenters -

The presenters use a conversational style of talk between each other in an informal style, this helps the audience feel more comfortable listening to the show. This is mainly because of the fact that the show is aimed at males and talks a lot about sport, and news which is generally what they talk about to friends so helps them relate. The presenters talk in a chatty style this also connotes the fact they want the listeners to feel like they are talking to their friends. 

Content -

The show uses songs like stevie Wonder - Superstitious, this connotes the idea of them aiming at an older audience of people as the show seems to play old songs that would specifically target an older audience. The show also has a nes section where they talk about all the local news in the area, as this is a local radio show on a local radio station.The show also talks about business as well as sport. So this gives it s quite broad area of topics. 

Audience -

The audience for City talk would be really male dominated, this is shown by both of the presenters being males as well as it talking about male stereotyped topics i.e. sport. This would be specifically be 61.7% male and 38.3% women tuning into the station. According to RAJAR the target demographic age for this show is between the ages of 25 - 45, and would be 43.5% of ABC1 Profile. This shows that people with money to spend on sports or running a business will actually tune into the show, and be interested in the show. The fact the target age for the show is 25 - 45 is shown by the chosen topics as well as the chosen music as its chosen from a certain time frame,
